A Deep Breath
It’s been a slow day today. I’ve had time to migrate all the Carepages posts over to an actual blog which we’ll be updating instead of the Carepage starting in the next day or so. You can subscribe to the blog if you want to get email updates just like with Carepages, but it also contains detailed information on how you can help out – including a donation button. We’re working out the bugs of that now and I’ll post the URL to Facebook and Carepages when it’s ready to go.
The only physician I’ve spoken with today is Dr. Hochberg. She again reiterated that the next biopsy will be scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday and threw out a bread crumb of hope that that the surgeon would be back today to confirm the actual day. A vascular surgeon may also be by to discuss the blood clot (they sometimes remove clots surgically, but the Lovanox can dissolve the clot over time).
Dr. Hochberg confirmed that chemotherapy would likely start the week after next. I’m not sure of the specific day. My mind tends to veer off in another direction when talk of chemotherapy comes up. It just makes everything too real. I was able to confirm that Ana can definitely have friends over during chemo treatments and, in fact, it’s encouraged. I asked about Halloween (Ana actually got upset that she may not be able to go trick or treating). If we’re in the hospital, obviously that won’t happen but maybe I can talk to the Child Life department about having the kids go room to room trick or treating or something. If she is home for Halloween, she’d have to wear a surgical mask. She wants to be Katniss from Hunger Games though (not sure how we’d manage that).
Thanks again for all your support and well wishes. I wish I had more news to share. If we get the MRI results today I will definitely post an update.
