Ana had a great day today with many visitors including my parents (who brought the special gift of a brand new ipod touch 5g!) and a mini button-making party. She had several friends over and they literally spent hours making buttons (the kind you pin on your shirt) with Cindy Hoose (the friend of many of our friends and, as it turns out, practically our neighbor). Cindy (shown in the above picture to the right of Emily) donated her time, button making skills and supplies and gave up her entire Sunday afternoon to host the festivities.
Ana has all her buttons in a special box next to her bed. She had SO much fun (so did Emily and all the girls as you can see!) Cindy’s also going to make buttons and sell them at the benefit concert in November. Ana may contribute some designs for the buttons which I’m sure she’ll enjoy tremendously.
We also had a visit from our friends and neighbors a few houses down – Meg, Tim and little Maia as well as an old Friend of Jim’s. It felt festive and somewhat spontaneous and definitely cheered Ana up.
