“Grab your things I’ve come to take you home.”
Just spoke with Jim. He’s with Ana today (we did the hospital switch off yesterday). They have officially approved Ana for discharge tomorrow! I’m taking Emily with me to the hospital which means she will miss a day of school (I would’ve pulled her out of school early, but the third graders are having a field trip). Jim instructed me to pick up a bunch of her medicines at the local pharmacy and bring them to the hospital with me tomorrow (apparently they do this to ensure we are able to obtain all her meds and we know what they are before discharge).
Ana will get chemo in the morning and will be released sometime in the afternoon or early evening. I have to clean her room! I have to order cable! I have to instruct the cats to look a little smaller since she missed an entire month of their kitten hood!
Hopefully nothing will change and my next post will include a picture of her walking away from the hospital. The plan is for her to get infusion therapy (chemo) as an outpatient for the next two weeks. The third week she’ll be admitted for the complete VAC therapy again (10/16) and then the following week (I think) she’ll get more scans to see how much the tumor has shrunk and what this means for her blood vessel (and, thus, her liver). I think your prayers are working. Keep them coming!!
