My latest Huffington Post piece is a good summary of how I plan to survive the coming year.

We received an Alex and Ani bracelet in the mail yesterday which I assume is a gift for Ana (I gave it to her), but there was no gift card with it and I’m not sure who it’s from. If you’re in this forum and you sent it – let me know so I can thank you! Ana loves the bracelet (I’d never heard of the brand, but she’s heard of it which is why I assumed it was for her). You can PM me or take credit by commenting on this post.
Also, a quick health update: Ana’s feeling better this week though she’s still getting low grade fevers most days and she’s quite tired. Her temperature has been hovering at around 99.4 – 99.8 and sometimes hits 100. She’s getting very cold too, which she’s associating with the fevers, but I wonder if it’s a metabolism thing (this happened with her original tumor – her metabolism sped up and she got very thin). She has dropped a lot of weight. She was thin already, but now she’s starting to look frail. Her appetite has slowly been returning though her stomach hurts when she overdoes it. She had labs drawn on Tuesday and they came back normal for the most part. She’s still a bit anemic (enough to register on the labs) and I think this may be contributing to her fatigue. Her need for pain medication is definitely dwindling. She’s taking about 5 mg every 6-8 hours (she’d been taking 7.5 mg every 4 hours up until about Tuesday). Her liver enzymes were normal on her labs. This is a huge relief because part of her liver was resected (they cut a piece off when they removed the liver tumor). I think I forgot to mention that in my updates. She had pieces of liver and bowel removed. Her strength and determination to get better are unbelievable.
Happy New Year, everyone!
