The Ascione Family
We interrupt this regularly scheduled blog for an important announcement – there’s a family in the community that NEEDS us.
The Asciones are a family of four who were in a horrific car accident on Memorial Day Weekend. Their 4-year-old daughter, Paisley (shown above) was seriously injured and is currently in the PICU at Westchester Medical Center. From their GiveForward Page:
On Memorial Day of this year, the Ascione family was in a very serious auto accident when their car was struck by an out-of-control vehicle involved in another crash. Four year old Paisley was critically injured and is being treated in the West Chester Medical Center ICU. Though her injuries are extensive, recent days have seen hopeful progress towards healing.
I worked with Brandi and Gian Ascione, Paisley’s parents, years ago before I became self-employed. I remember them both as a wonderfully sweet, loving couple and it broke my heart to read about the accident which happened on 9W in Port Ewen – in a place I’ve often ridden my bike. They have two daughters Addie (7) and Paisley (4) who were in the car with them. Addie is okay.
I am holding Brandi’s hand from here. I am holding my breath with her right now.
Family members have set up a fund to help with medical expenses and I hope that you will give what you can – this is the best way to help the family at this time. There are so many expenses to cover with an unexpected hospitalization – things like hospital deductibles and the cost of gas and meals on the road. There is also a loss of income involved with something like this – Brandi and Gian need to focus on Paisley and Addie right now and that means work must wait.
