Update 12:30 a.m.
Ana is asleep. The I.V. did not go in her vein the first two attempts and that pretty much sucked. They called in a nurse on the I.V.team and that did the trick but not before Ana got really upset. I’ll refrain from elaborating on my own reaction.
A surgical fellow came in and said the organ is being removed now at a nearby hospital. It should be here by about 4:00 a.m. and the surgery will take place at about 5:00 a.m. The fellow said he feels Dr. Kato will definitely want to go forward with the transplant because “it’s not that common for a young local liver to become available, even in new york.”
