Update – 12:30 p.m.
Ana’s been in surgery for about 4.5 hours. The hepatologist came out with a quick update about an hour ago. She said they were at a critical part of the operation – removing the tumor. They had to give her some units of blood and there is some very delicate stuff happening in terms of disconnecting everything very carefully. The donor organ is here and ready and I am hoping they have started transplanting it by now. I really hope we get an update soon. I got so anxious that I had to take a xanax and now I’m even more exhausted.
This is the longest day of my life.
