  1. I was talking with your sister about how it is difficult it can be to accept help. I think you are giving us all a great gift by accepting the support and help we are able to give. There is an ironically “selfish” motive to giving – it makes the giver feel good. By letting us give what we can to your family you give us the gift of feeling that we are doing something that makes a difference. There is a certain powerlessness to all of this, and many of us feel like we would do anything to make Ana better. Short of actually being able to make her better, this is what we can do. Thank you for accepting what we can give, even if it feels difficult at times. It actually helps us as much as it helps you, believe it or not. Steph
